from Starfleet confidential intelligence files: Ronov was born on the colony world of Lys. His family were servants in the house of Enriov (Admiral) H'deem tr'Daelk, an admiral in the Star Empire navy. As is custom, in the Romulan Empire, Ronov's family, even though servants, took on the name of the house they were employed in. On a return trip from Ra'tleihfi, the Rihannsu capitol city, the passenger shuttle Ronov and his parents were riding aboard was attacked by Orion pirates. The pirates did not find anyting of worth aboard the shuttle, but did have their time with the travelers before leaving them for dead. Ronov's parents were among those who did not survive. Ronov, himself was found near-death, covered in Orion blood. Other survivors had told of how the boy had fought off the Orions and how it had taken three to actually subdue Ronov. Admiral H'Deem heard the tales of the boy's bravery, and saw to Ronov's education, eventually getting him into War College, and then into the Galae. | |
