Background: | Michael was born on the New Berlin colony, one of the oldest Federation colonies populated mainly by humans. His father is an architect while his mother is a homemaker. Aside from the occasional sibling rivalry with his older sister Michelle, who is now a fashion designer, life was pretty stable and maybe a little routine on New Berlin. Michael was always an avid student and threw himself into his studies. School was more important than anything to him, but he grew up with a lot of friends because of his likable character. He always had an easy going nature, even as a child, that endeared him to others. He can be at times somewhat arrogant and slightly hot tempered. He is currently single. Academy history: Juarez took his devotion to his studies to the Academy with him when he went there immediately after secondary school. He threw himself head first into his studies, and graduated near the top of his class. Michael did demonstrate a remarkable aptitude in engineering and hard science that went beyond books. He graduated in the upper quartile of his class. Career History: Juarez was approached by Admiral Styles shortly before graduation to serve on the SFI flagship, one of Starfleet's best. He could not be more proud. He served first in engineering and then as operations manager. He was promoted to Lt (j/g) soon after his posting and then was transferred to a science ship, USS Trolon. USS Trolon was soon destroyed on a research mission in a remote black cluster, fortunately all of the crew escaped. After the inquiry at Starbase Headquarters was over, Michael decided to beef his educational background and take supplemental courses at the Academy. Taking an accelerated track (1 year), he obtained a double Master's Degree in physics and exobiology. As in his undergraduate studies, he graduated in the top 1/4th of his class. Much to his delight, he was posted back with his old friends on USS Wyld Foxx A, and is now serving as Chief Science Officer, overseeing a department of more than 100 officers and crew. | |
