The Federation Institute of Science and Discovery has lost contact with one of their newly established outposts. It had been set up on an ice world, designated BX-2468, and they were doing studies on the planet’s core and general environment. The institute petitioned Starfleet to help, as they did not have another long-range ship they could send out to see what has happened to the outpost, and Starfleet Command has asked us to look into it.
FOR THE SIM
At start of sim, we will have been traveling at warp 8 for a day, and will be arriving. We have already tried several times to hail the outpost, to no avail. Commander Hart will have command of the away team down to the outpost.
