The Eagle has undergone a change. It has been enveloped in a time warp which has changed it's history. The entire crew finds that they are subjects of the Romulan Star Empire and they don't know the difference!

Erein Lost held his temper in. He didn't like the Commander. Nothing he could do was ever good enough for the abusive Romulan. He waited until the full-blooded Romulan, along with the rest of the away team, had left the bridge, then he muttered under his breath.
Lost couldn't wait until he was off duty. He needed to vent his frustration, and the best way he knew was to get lost in his games. He didn't dare bring them onto the bridge, even though he really would like to. The kid liked his head too much.
When the turbolift door opened up, Lost risked a glance to see who was entering the bridge. It was the tactical officer, erein Marqusa. He quickly turned back to look at his console, not risking the Enarrain catching the smile on his face. That would not be good. Lost knew it was dangerous. He knew it wasn't wise. But he couldn't help it. He liked her. But then, who wouldn't? There was only one problem with her. The Enarrain.
He sighed softly, and turned his attention back to his duty. Thinking about her wasn't going to do anything but cause trouble. That's all anything ever did for him though. He always seem to be in some form of trouble. It was really amazing that he was still in the Galae. The only thing that saved him was that he was a great pilot, even if the commander didn't think so. But then, Lost didn't think the Commander liked anyone who wasn't Romulan.

Lost sat straight up in his chair. He wondered if things could get any worse then they were now. Some enemy had destroyed a Romulan ship, with apparent little injury to themselves. Now that enemy has destroyed a Jem Hadar ship. To make matters worse, the CO has just left the bridge, leaving the XO incharge. Lost knew that the XO was not going to be happy about the large loss of Romulan life. He also knew that Commander Haedl was most likely going to be taking his frustration out. With Enarrain tr'Fry'stk off the bridge, all on the bridge were at risk. Unfortunately, for Lost anyways, the helmsman seemed to be the Commanders favorite target. The erein wasn't about to give the commander any openings, not that the commander needed any.
Lost closed his eyes for one second and envisioned himself back in his quarters. He was trying to decide which game he was going to play today. Top on the list would probably be a game called "Star Wars." It was a cool game that gave the player a chance to be at the helm of a Romulan ship, battling other hostile races. Lost liked this game because he could always beat it. Of course, that was because Romulans never lost, and they probably wouldn't be happy with a game that had them losing.
Another game at the top would be "Galaxy Quest." This game was more of an exploritory type game. This one was much more challenging, as it required very good navigational skills. Not to mention the fact that it was a giant space maze. Lost had never been very good at getting through mazes. It was this exact challenge that addicted the erien to the game.
There was a third game that Lost also contemplated playing. It was called "Spy Game." Lost got to be a spy sneaking around different worlds, ships, empires. Of course, like all the other games, this one too always favorited the empire, as is only right.
Lost sat on his bed, looking down at the three games. Which was he going to play today? Then, all of a sudden, he heard the alarms go off.
Lost was ripped from his thoughts with a start. Panic stricken he quickly looked around the bridge and then down at his consul. Then his heart dropped to the floor. It had only been in his thoughts. Nothing new was wrong on the bridge. His eyes had only been closed for a few seconds, but that was enough to really ruin the kids day. Lost prayed that Commander Haedl hadn't seen his reaction. That was all he needed right now.

The RES Vengence has been destroyed by an unknown enemy. She was found with a huge gaping hole in the side of her hull. Based on the damage that the enemy did to the ship it would appear that we are up against a formidable enemy, and one that may even have a slight amnei (tactical) advantage.
The Jem Hadar ship that sent out a distress signal did not fair much better then the Vengence. This time we were able to get to the ship not to long after the attack. Based on the attack pattern the enemy used they knew how to disable the ship effectively without destroying her. All systems have been disabled. When we meet this enemy, we will all have to be prepared.

Gwen looked up from her station in amusement. This could be fun. She thought. The amnei'saehne (tactical officer) had seen the helmsman panicked reaction. She wondered what he was up to. Though, in all honesty it didn't matter much. That wasn't what would be fun. What could be fun was how the Commander reacted to this situation. While she didn't like how the Commander treated her, she did like to see others getting into trouble. Even more so when the Enarrain was the one delivering the punishment.
Gwen looked back down to her station, but kept a close eye on the situation at hand. She was a little worried about the enemy that had destroyed a Rihansu ship and a Jem Hadar ship and seemed to have taken on so little damage itself. Last thing she wanted was for the Eagle to be destroyed. She enjoyed her position on this ship too much.

Commander Saeihr Haedl didn't even acknowledge the Enarrain as he and his hhakh(stupid) pet Betazoid left the bridge. He had no love for the Enarrain and would sooner take his disrupter out and kill the stupid half breed then not, but now was not the time to move. Soon, but not yet. Instead he kept the scow on is face as he moved down and took the command chair, still thinking about what he saw on the Vengeance.
Not that he we ever admit it to anyone, but what he saw on one of the most powerful ships in the fleet scared him. If someone could do that to a powerful D'Deridex class ship, staffed by the finest Romulan soldiers in the empire. What chance does the RES sol' Eagle have against what attacked them?

Commander Haedl was still deep in thought when a movement caught his eye, breaking his train of thought. Looking up he saw that Erein Lost was looking around the bridge, then looked back at his console like he had done something wrong.
Lost sat in his seat, perfectly upright, and not breathing. He'd know in a matter of seconds if the Commander saw.
In a quiet voice he said, "Erein Lost, what are you doing?"
Lost's heart sank. The commander had seen. Or maybe not. Lost realized that he wasn't in his normal posture, maybe that's what the commander was picking up on. He tried to sound as normal as possible, "Nothing rekkhai."
Haedl got up out of his chair and walked over to behind lost and spun the chair around to face him. In an angry voice he said, "I better not catch you day dreaming again or I swear by the elements that I will have you clean the hull with a toothbrush. Is that clear Erein?"
Lost didn't really hear what the commander said, he was too scared to hear. But, he could understand the meaning of what was said. Without hesitation he replied as quickly and enthusiastically as he could. "Ie Rekkhai!"
Giving Lost one last angry look he stepped back up to the command deck. Standing in the middle of the bridge he looked around and said to everyone, "That goes for the rest of you too. If I catch any of you slacking your butts will be mine. I wanna know who did this to the Vengeance and that ship out there, and I wanna know where they have gone."
Lost spun his chair back around to face his consoul. His heart was still pounding hard in his chest. Slowly he started to relax a little. He realized that he probably got off really light with that one. Why on why did the Enarrain have to leave the bridge? Then he snapped himself out of his thoughts, no way he'd get off a second time.
Saeihr sat back down in the command chair and then said, "Erein Marqusa, engage cloak. Mr. Haas, find out from engineering how long until the sub mode is back online and Erein Hamza, I wanna know where the attacking ship went and I want to know NOW!!!"

Gwen watched the interaction between Haedl and Lost. It didn't take much for her to figure out that the Commander was really rattled. He went extremely easy on the erien. She tried to recall if she'd ever seen him act like this before, but couldn't think of one time. She guessed that the death of so many rihannsu had gotten to him. That was the only upside to all this.
     "Erein Marqusa, engage cloak"
"Ie rekkhai." Gwen then had the cloaking device engaged and hid a sigh. It looked like the Commander was back to his old self. With that she gave him no futher thought. Instead she decided to think about her favorite topic. Lukas. A smile crossed her face that she was not able to hide. Gwen couldn't wait to get to the bottom of whatever was going on. Then she'd be able to have some fun again.

From across the bridge Erein Hamza watched Commander Haedl terrorizing Erein Lost. She gave a barely perceptible frown not liking at all the Commander's treatment of her fellow Erein. His enjoyement of terrorizing lower ranking officers was not logical and only built hatred towards him - hatred she was sure would one day be his undoing. She could not help feeling some relief at not being the focus of Haedl's furry but also pity for Lost for being the chosen one for the moment. Ratchet hated the way the Romulans treated nonRomulans. Like slaves to be pushed around and used and once no longer of benefit to be discarded. Loyalty and obedience through fear was not logical and logic dictated it would lead to the downfall of the Romulan Star Empire. Ratchet returned her eyes to her station, starting again on her analysis of her readings taken of the alien body they had found in the Vengeance's medical bay. She wanted to have her analysis of the alien's armor finished as soon as possible. She sure such information would prove vital if it came to a fight and with Commander Haedl's attitude she was very sure it would come to a fight. So intent she was on her analysis she near leapt in her seat when Haedl suddenly leapt on her barking an order in her direction.

"Erein Hamza, I wanna know where the attacking ship went and I want to know NOW!!!"

Ratchet frowned at this order. She was the science officer not the operations officer. This was not a task she was normally meant to do and she had far more important tasks to attend to then do the operation officer's work. But she knew better then to say anything to the Commander. When Enarrain tr'Fyrs'tk returned to the bridge she would alert him on this. Until then she set the sensors on long range with orders to alert her if the enemy vessel was detected then returned to her analysis of the alien armor and body.

Gwen checked the tactical systems, making sure they were up to where they should be. If they are off, even a little, it could mean the destruction of the Eagle.
Commander Saeihr Haedl sat in the command chair and quietly reviewed the sensor data comming in.
She frowned when she noticed that there are power fluctuation in aft disruptor banks. This was not good. She looked over at Commander Haedl and sighed. He was not going to like this, but there is no way she can avoid not telling him.
     "Rekkhai." She called out, frowning.
Saeihr didnt even bother to look over at the tactical station as he said, "Ie Erein Marqusa."
"I was running a systems check on the amnei status Rekkhai. There seems to be some sort of power fluctuation in the aft disruptor banks." Gwen called out, not looking at the commander.
In a sarcastic, yet heated tone, "Then why dont you have your BEEP down there fixing it?"
Gwen hesitates for only a moment, wanting to say that it's not her job to do the actual fixing. But she realizes if she goes, she won't have to deal with the commander. That was definately an advantage, and a good reason not to argue with him. She headed towards the lift doors before she even started to answer. "Ie rekkhai. On my way." With that she slipped into the lift, not waiting for any more of his comments.
Muttered as he heard the turbolift doors shut, "Hhakh (stupid) hevam (human) slut."

Things weree definitely less than stellar on the bridge of the Eagle right now. Tensions were high due to this new threat and Commander Haedl was not making things any easier by taking his fear out on the crew. At least that is the way Roman looked at it.

It was not in the nature of Roman's people to dislike anyone, but Roman sure held heavy contempt for Haedl. The Romulan would think nothing of taking his frustration out on any member of the crew, with the exception of Ennarrain Lukas. But Roman was certain that given the opportunity Haedl would most certainly do even worse to the ship's commanding officer.

Rp,am stopped his reflection of conditions on the bridge when his console beeped. He had been running a computer prograsm to piece together the broke data bits from Vengence's computer core. It had taken a bit of time to do, but it had been met with success.

Suddenly Commander Haedl had decided to again take out his frustrations. The Romulan turned his ire from Lost, the helmsman, to Ratchet and Roman. Roman watched the Vulcan's reaction and couldn't help but smile. They were unpreturbable and that always added to Haedl's fury.

Roman checked the status of ship's systems. "Engineering reports another 10 minutes to bring the sub-mode back online, rekkhai."

Roman then checked the other program he had been running. The one tracing minute ion particles that had surrounded to=he Jem Hadar ship. From what he saw there were at least four different ships that had brought the Jem Hadar warship to a halt and attacked it. There seemed to be som ekind of beam that had been used on the ship to disrupt it's systems and stop it.

Best of all, there was a definite trail away from the area. All four ships. He sent this information to the science console. If Ratchet was quick enough, she could pass this information onto Haedl and get him off her back for a little while.

That was one thing unique about this crew, versus a full Romulan crew. They watched each other's backs.

Lost couldn't believe what he was hearing. Erien Marqusa was actually getting permission to leave the bridge. He wondered why she had all the luck. Lost looked down at his own console and wondered if the same trick would work for him. If there was something wrong with the navigational systems, would Haedl tell him to go fix it? Lost figured he wouldn't. Why would the Commander want to get rid of his favorite punching bag? He sighed inwardly, trying hard not to let his mood show. That was the last thing that he needed, giving the Commander another reason to vent his anger.
Lost tried to remain focused on what was going on, but he found his mind continually drift off to something, someplace more exciting then the bridge. Still, the reprimand from the Commander weighed in the back of his mind, and so he never let his thoughts totally drift out of reality, just mostly drift. Lost wondered how much longer the Enarrain would be away from the bridge. He had to of been gone for well over an hour by now. Lost looked down at the ships chrono and was shocked to see very little time had actually elapsed. He would be trapped in this areinnye forever at this rate.

Gwen watched as the battle came to a close. She couldn't help but wear a proud smile that the Eagle came out victorious, especially since the ships had destroyed a warbird and Jem Hadar ship. She was even happier that she had destroyed the disabling beam on one of the attacking ships. That had to win her some points, and prove to others that she did have some talent in a professional way.
The computer indicated that she had an incoming message. It told her that she could return to the ship. Gwen skillfully flew the Falcon back towards the Eagle, and docked it. It really wasn't too hard to dock, since the computers did it automatically. The last thing she wanted right now was to try to manually do it and screw up. She climbed out of the Falcon and headed off to her quarters. She needed to change and freshen up. She couldn't keep the wide smile off her face as she thought about later.

Lost sighed in relief! He was finally off the bridge. It was always a good thing to be off duty. Being off duty meant that he could play his games as much as he'd like. But there was an even better reason to be off the bridge. Today it meant getting away from Commander Haedl, who was being particularily abusive lately.
Tru looked around his room and quickly spotted what he was looking for. A bag. He moved over and picked the bag up, then brought it over to his bed. Sitting down, he opened the bag and dumped out it's contents onto the bed. There before him lay 20 different games of all sorts. Upon seeing the pile of treasure, his eyes lit up brightly. All the stress from his shift on duty faded, even dissapeared.
Tru shifted the games around on the bed, making sure he could see each one individually. Decisions decisions decisions. Which one should he choose to play first? They were all very good games, and he loved them all. Since he had to choose, Tru started to pick up each game and looked them over. Some he tossed back down on his bed (albeit in a different area) and others got tossed into his bag, to be played another day. Soon Tru had 5 games laid out before him. Now the tough decisions had to be made.
Suddenly his eyes twinkled as he remember that he had one more game. It was hidden, in a different place. This game was like all the others, except in one respect. It didn't favor the Empire. That was why the game was hidden. Tru didn't think that the Empire would look to favorably upon it. Especially since he played the game in order to defeat aspects of the Empire (never the Empire itself though, Lost wasn't entirely suicidal). That was the game that he wanted to play today. He was ready to return some of the abuses that had been thrust upon him while he was serving the Empire. He felt it was only fair.

Daise Dheno Saehne(Chief Security Officer) took over amnei (tactical) while I was fixing the disruptors. I returned to the bridge, but remained in the background. The four enemy went into attack formation, headed towards a Senate Ship. This is when Enarrain tr'Fyr'stk took action to protect the Rihannsu lives on the mostly defensless ship. I was sent out on the Falcon, under aeh'lla (cloak), where I was to remain until needed. It was a good foresight on the part of the Enarrain that he sent me out, for I was able to prevent one of the attacking vessals from using their weapon that disables ships. It would do well for others on this ship to emulate the Enarrain, for his actions saved the lives of all the Rihannsu on the ship out there, and all the lives on the sol'Eagle. The attacking vessals broke off, and I was recalled to the ship. One of the vessals remains in the area, as it was disabled.

Gwen made her way back to her quarters. Taking her time, she freshened up and then stood just outside her closet, looking in. What was she going to wear tonight? She simple and somewhat revealing. Or maybe something that looked as if it was almost painted on. She mused about this for a few minutes, then came to the realization that it really didn't matter much. It wasn't like she would be wearing the outfit long. She smiled, she might as well just wear her uniform. She'd get less looks on the way. Of course people would still wonder, but she would seem less out of place.
Having finally decided, Gwen changed into a clean uniform and then busied herself with other minor tasks. She looked at the time and decided now was as good of time as any. Picking up a PADD she exited her quarters and headed toward's Lukas' quarters. As she walked, she looked down at the PADD, as if checking all the information over for accuracy. One never wanted to turn in a report that had ANY errors. Even minor ones could ensure retribution. Especially if the reports were going to have to go through Commander Haedl. Though Gwen really didn't have much to worry about, it was still nice to turn in error free reports.
Gwen arrived at Lukas' quarters, and chimed the bell. She wondered if he was going to be in there, or if he was still on the Bridge. It really wouldn't matter much, she would just let herself in and wait if he wasn't in. It would almost be more fun for her if he wasn't. She'd know in a matter of seconds.

Hmm times seem odd now since i started my duites here. Much prefer the order of my own kind and the life on our own ships. These Romulians are just an odd sort. The second in command seems to have a, what is it the terrans called it? a chip on his shoulder :chuckles: Seems everyone here is on edge all the time now. And that seems to become more and more common on board, But then i guess this should be expected from them all. They are not warroirs breed to fight. But they are all so interesting to watch The Hedle more interested in demoteing his soilders then helping in running the ship. It would be interesting to see how he would fair back in my home systems. The Rekkhai seems somewhat displaced and preoccupied with his female primarly and his command secondary, but then again who knows. This is not the Imperialiam and i cant fault these beings for being what they are, and now as of the time being. I will tolorate them and their little quirks until i need them otherwise replaced. right now they do what they need to, as long asthey give me my space and not annoy me i wont have to kill anyone or destroy the ship yes? But i do enjoy my postion here now. It does help leviate the the stress of being here amoung this humanoid speices.

But on a Lighter note, the hedle wish to challange me to a duel in the training simulator they have. so i will have to see how that shall go. Maybe if he provailes he will have earned a small amount of respect from me. But if he loses what should i do with him? Do him as we do at home? Make a tryophy of him? or do i slay him and let him dissapate?:laughs: either way on the latter half i shall have fun, But either way i will deal with him in my own way as many before him.

I got to do what i was created for for once. I got to fight. Though it was ship to ship, it was stress relief for me. we saved the sentor ship from the hunters and we sustained little to no damage. But still as it was a stress relife for me it seems to have placed the crew on edge a bit more. Maybe i should run them though battle Drills until they learn to relax during battle. But we now have a hunter ship that has been dissabled and in need to exploring. my natural feline curioisty now gets the better of me in that fact. My second in command eanred a slight gain in my respect as well as she handled her self quite well in the shuttle during the battle. They still need more training in battle, they need to be perfect. The Rekkhai and his lacky right hand second my tolorate the slight inprefections in the battle's but i do not. maybe if the imprefections were put to death they would step too and make a soilder proud to defened them in battle.

Lost tossed the game he was playing down on the bed. He wasn't sure how long he had been playing for, but he knew he needed to stop. His stomach told him so. No longer could he ignore the grumblings that came from his stomach. They were getting to loud.
Lost climbed off his bed and returned his game to its proper hiding place. While he doubted anyone would ever find the game in his stack of other games, Tru really wasn't willing to take the risk. He looked around the room for a moment, and realized when he got back he had a little bit of work to do. Having a messy room was never a good thing. Though, when Lost was lost in his games, he usually neglected other things. Like food.
His stomach grumbled again as if wondering what was taking so long. He sighed softly and headed out of his quarters, heading to the mess hall. Once there, he hoped he'd be able to quickly satisfy his hunger and then get back to his quarters. Tru was already feeling Game Deprivation. But that deprivation wasn't stronger then his food deprivation, and therefore it would have to wait to be satisfied.

Lost walked into the mess hall and quickly got his food. He scanned the room to find a nice empty place by himself. After spotting a table in the back, he made his way over. He so desperately wanted to satisfy his hunger pains. Setting the food down on the table, Lost pulled out one of the chairs and had a seat.
Her own plate of food in hand, just picked up from the replicator Ratchet surveyed the mess hall looking for a place to sit. At one side of the mess hall she saw Erein Lost find a table by himself. She suddenly felt a need to go to him. After what had transpored on the bridge with Commander Haedl. She felt bad for him and wanted to talk to him. "Is this seat taken" she asked when she was standing before him.
Startled, Lost looked up at the erien. Normally people seemed to shun him, not that he really gave them any reason to do otherwise. He recognized her from the bridge, the science officer. But for the life of him, he couldn't remember her name. She definately was an oddity in the Navy, being of Vulcan Lineage.
Lost seemed at a loss for how to react. He wasn't too adept socially, and never really got the practice. Should he indicate that she should have a seat, or should he just tell her he wanted to be alone? Thoughts of the games left piled in the bag in his quarters drifted into his mind. He did want to get back to playing with them. Then again, he didn't know when or if there would ever be another oppertunity to talk to one of his fellow crew members.
Hesitantly, "Umm . . . No, the seat is not taken." He wondered if he should stand and pull the seat out for her, or if he should sit and let her do it. In the end, since he couldn't make up his mind he just sat there, looking a little lost.
She gave him a small, faint, and what she hoped was a reassuring smile. Her tray, unlike the norm for her people, was not Vegetarian. She had developed a like for fish while away from Vulcan; a think her people had been quite to point out was not at all their way. "I am Erein Hamza" she told him. "But everyone calls me Ratchet" She paused a moment to take a spoonful of her meal. When she spoke again her voice was sympathetic. "I saw how the Commander was to you on the bridge." She frowned. "Do not let him get to you. He is like that to everyone." She almost sighed remembering the Commander's own treatment towards her.
Lost looked over at the vulcan sitting across from him. He was somewhat surprised to see a smile. Even though it was a very weird smile at best, it did make him feel better. He knew that she was trying, and that she wanted him to feel better, and that was really what mattered.
He took a bit of food, an old earth recipe of beef, cheese, noodles, and a little bit of tomato sauce. Then he looked over at Ratch again, this time a smile crossing his face. "Hi Ratch. I'm Tru." He shruged, "Whenever the Commander really gets going hard on me I just think about my games. It gets me through the shift."
Ratchet raised a brow. "Games?" she asked. For herself when Haedl got on her she tried to use the little training her parents had given her on controlling her emotions before they had died - it did not always work. These games must be very powerful or appealing to make him get through the Commander's berating. "What kind of games?"
There was no mistaking the flash that spread across Lost's face, he was in heaven. His eyes sparkled, and his smile stretched from ear to ear. But then, why shouldn't he be elated? She was asking about his games. "Yeah, games. They really are hard to describe. But, they are realy cool. I get to prentend I'm somebody else and that I'm somewhere else. I get to destroy all sorts of things and blow things up. Of course, it's not like it would be on a holodeck. To most, I guess these hand held games would seem really really boring. But not to me!" He beamed, "I'm an addict!" Even though he had barely had much of his meal, his hunger pains were gone. Now all he could think about again were the games. He looked at her for a moment and then added, "Would you like to see them? I have a bunch in my quarters. I would even be willing to lend a couple of you, if you'd like."
His excitement was catching and she gave him a slightly larger smile. Living under the lash of the Romulans, not accpeted by her people she was eager for any kind of companionship and his excitement about these games. They must be really great if they could make this life better. "I am not most" she admitted slowly. "I would like to see them."
He beamed again and was about to get up. Then he looked down at his hardly touched food and across at Ratch who didn't appear to be getting much further. "Umm, do you want to finish eating first? I mean, that is why we came to this place" Lost really wanted to go back to his quarters, but he didn't want to possibly jeopardize any chances of a friendship with the Vulcan. She was actually interested in his games!!!!
Sensing his eagerness, plus the fact she had come down here mostly because she felt she had to eat and not because she was hungry, she pushed her plate aside. "I am not really hungry" she told him. "so if you are finished I am." She looked at him her dark eyes bright. "I really want to see what these games are, what is so exciting about them." For she had never seen someone so excited over something and her impatience, another of the many things that had caused her trouble on Vulcan, was starting to get the better of her.
Lost had to use all the strength of will he had not to leap up. Instead, he too pushed his plate aside and then stood up. He smiled brightly to her, his blue eyes still sparkling. "Follow me then."
Lost started towards the door, thoughts streaming through his head. Ratch wasn't an ordinary vulcan. She displayed emotions, though it seemed she tried to control them as much as she could. In a sense, Lost thought that she seemed rather conflicted, trying hard to be one thing, and yet was something entirely different. He could understand this feeling. He'd felt that way many times. Especially when he was around his family. Immediately he erased that thought. He didn't want anything to dampen the mood, and thinking of his family would definately do that.
Ratchet followed, outwardly only wearing a slight smile. Inside she had never been this excited. No one had ever been this nice to her. On Vulcan they looked down at her for being emotional. Thinking perhaps she would find herself a place among her emotional cousins she found only disgust, mistrust and hatred. Other species feared her and did not trust her. Some thought she was part Romulan, others just could not get at ease with a smiling Vulcan. Her dark eyes shone. For the first time since coming aboard this vessel she was not completely miserable.
The two quickly wound their away through the maze of the ship to Lost's quarters. He opened the door for her by pressing one of the buttons on the outside and then waited until she entered. Lost was taught that was how a gentleman was suppose to act. But he wasn't sure if it really fit this situation. Even if it didn't, he felt it was at least a nice gesture to make. Hopefully she wouldn't fault him for his lacking of skills.
She entered his quarters a little uncertainly. She had never been invited to someone else's quarters. She finally decided to try and appease her insatiable curiosity. "How many games do you have? Are they all different? Where did you get them from?"
Lost follows Ratch in and smiles to her. "At last count, over twenty." He went over to where he had his bag of games stored, and grabed it. "They are all in here." He showed her the bag, as if holding up a trophy. He felt a slight pain for not telling the entire truth, for not telling about the hidden game. He just wasn't ready to risk everything for someone he just met. Besides, no harm was coming from it.
Lost looked at the bed then back to Ratch. He was just going to automatically dump the games out on the bed, his normal place. Then he wondered what Ratch would think. He wasn't sure if she'd think that he was being VERY rude. Afterall, he just met her and now he was about to ask her to come sit on his bed with him. Then he looked about his quarters hesitantly. He didn't know where else would be a good place to set the games down. He looked at Ratch again, and then around the room.
Ratchet's eyes first went to the bag, which he held like a prized possession. He seemed so proud of this bag and her curiosity doubled. What made this young man so happy about these games? She then say his expression change to confussion. His eyes kept going from her to the bed but he said nothing. She guessed, and he she hoped she was not wrong that he wanted her to sit on the bed but was uncomfortable to ask her that. She did not blame him. She would have been too. Slowly she walked over to the bed and sat down. He seemed so nice and she wanted to put him at ease. Here was her chance to finally make a friend on this ship. "Please show me your games" she said to him, indicating a spot on the bed across from her for him to sit.
Lost couldn't help it, his mouth dropped a bit as he watch her sit on the bed. He moved over to the bed and sat down, still somewhat hesitant. Slowly he opened the bag and dumped the games on his bed between himself and Ratch. His eyes lit up again at the site of the games, and he forgot his uncomfortableness. He looked over at Ratch to see what her reaction would be. Lost wasn't sure what to expect.
For a Vulcan bred for logic Ratchet was feeling positively unVulcan. There was something about just looking at the games that was exciting. They looked so simply and yet she knew were so much more. Like a holodeck; just a simple room but once activated. Her eyes darted from one to the next, reading each one, eager to turn one on to see how it worked but not daring too; afraid to touch his most prized possession. "I have never seen anything like them" she admitted slowly but with a faint smile. She did not want to sadden him. He was so nice when he was happy and so eager about his games. For a few moments she was at a loss for words herself. Finally she asked, "How do you? They look fascinating. Can you show me?"
He smiled to her, "Is there one of the games that catches your eye? If there is, then just pick it up. The best way to learn to play is to just start playing. Experience is the best teacher. Each game also has an introductory feature that shows you how to play." Lost reached in and blindly pulls out one of the games. Then he indicated with his hands that she should pick one as well.
Ratchet's eyes scanned all the games. All of them caught her eye. The colors, the names; all so different from the dull monotony she knew on Vulcan or aboard this ship. Ratchet had always been easily excited which had made even the little emotional control she had been taught hard to maintain and which explained why she so often got so bored so quickly. Finally she just picked one at random and started the introductory feature. Listening to directions had also often bored her but the way this explanation was given actually made her more interested in the game she had picked. She found herself odly drawn into it. After a few minutes in the game, or rather what seemed a few minutes she looked up at him. "This is fascinating" she admitted. "I see why you like them so much."
He smiled brightly, "When I'm on the bridge and the Commander is really laying into me, I just think about these games. It really helps."
The two sat on the bed, enjoying the companionship and the games in silence.

ON:

Lukas looked over to the door as it slid aside. He smiled as he saw who walked thru.
Gwen walked into the room and smiled over to Lukas. As soon as the doors closed she tossed the PADD she had been carrying and walked over to him, smiling. "Jolan tru."
"Jolan tru," Lukas replied in a soft tone. "You are just the sight I needed."
She smiled and sat down next to him. "Having a rough time Lukas?" Gwen gently laid one of her hands over his, looking into his eyes.
"Nothing unexpected," he said reassuringly, "And certainly nothing I cannot handle. What brings you by?"
She looked at him for a moment, then smiled, "Oh, I figured you might be in need of some . . . company."
"Well," Lukas said a bit hesitatingly. "They want me to come over tot he Senate ship..." And then he thought how he wouldn't mind keeping them waiting. He leaned a bit closer to Gwen. "But you know what? They can wait."

Operations Log, Terran Stardate 030622:

Through dilligent study of the VEngence's logs which I had to peice together, I was able to determine the attacker ships disable their enemy with a beam. The beam effectively disables a "prey-ship's" engines, sensors and other functions, leaving the prey wide ope for a boarding attack.

Enarrain Lukas had learned the same from the Romulan Offficer who had been assigned the Jem Hadar ship that underwent an attack. Enarrain Lukas ordered us to pursue the attackers and try to size up their methods. We did not have to wait long as they started an attack on a Senate ship.

Enarrain Lukas had us intercept the Senate ship before the attackers and we remained cloaked, the Senate ship was not even aware of our presence. As the attacker approached, I was able to determine which ship was firing the beam. Our Daise Security targeted the beam emmitor and we were able to take them by surprise.

Ereain Marqusa was sent out in the Falcon to watch our backs, as Enarrain Lukas would say it. I detected another of the attackers preparing to use their disabler on us and sent the coordinates to the Falcon. Ereain Marqusa took them totally by surprise. We were able to totally disable one of their ships and the other three took off running.

Once I return from meal break I will run some extensive scans on the remaining attacker ship.

Operations officer

ON:

Roman reluctantly left the bridge for his meal break. He was eager to scan the attacker ship and fid out all that he could about te ship. Despite the danger they had faced, Roman found the encounter with the aliens exciting.

This is why he came to this ship. Why he really wanted to serve under this particular commanding officer. He had heard many tales of the half-breed. Many full-blood Rihansu would spit at he mention of his name. Roman liked that. Roman wanted to be the next non-Romulan commanding officer.

He went into the mess lounge and quickly got his meal. He avoided sitting with anyone so he could get his food done without much interruption. Roman did take the time to check out who was in the lounge.

As he looked around, Romannoticed Gewn wasn't in the lounge. It would be her meal time as well. He knew where she would be though. THis would not be the first meal she hadn't spent in the lounge with the other officers. 'Good for her,' he thought to himself.
