"Showing the Eagle How To Hunt"
by: Sprout

DL: Sprout

Sprout raced excitedly back to the Vibe Deck after getting permission from Queen Cosette to search for the Star-Bone.

“At attention, Pack!" The Russel Terrian announced. "We’re going for a hunt. Let’s wake up the Alpha Core!”

The Vibe Deck suddenly came alive with activity as the Alpha-Core shook the cold off the Guard Coating. Outwardly, the ship would appear to shutter or vibrate before it began to sway and glide about in space. While the movement did not seem to have any purpose or direction, it was not jerky or erratic.

“We’re hunting Star-Bone today, Pack," Sprout further said, "so I want the Scouts to start grooming their Foragers!”

A pack of gritty, Chihuahua looking dogs, all shorter than Sprout, passed by him with a respective nod to his expertise. As they passed through the deck, others were quick to clear a path for them. A bull dog looking dog stood in the middle of the path, obviously unaware that others had cleared the way, and was standing alone when the group came upon him. A cacophony of angry barking erupted from the little group, and every canid nearby scattered further away from the unfortunate bulldog. With a startled look, he dropped to the ground and the little group descended upon him without mercy, until Sprout charged them with a sharp bark.

“Keep it moving. You’ll mess with the vibe!”

The group moved on as if nothing happened, and another bulldog rushed forward to help up the one that had been attacked. With a chuff, Sprout resumed his post.

“Let's unfurl the NSA and start casting for Star-Bone.”

At this announcement, a couple of Shiba Inu's jumped to action and from outside the ship, this pair could be seen leaving an air lock with a harness on that was tethered to the ship. Though not visible, the harness released a special film that protected the dogs body from the rigors of space. They moved to the bottom of the Conveyance where there was another bubble like the one at the top of the ship. The bubble opened and as they worked, a flower-like structure unfurled like a giant, hairy flower. The petals waved about as though blowing in the wind, while the Shiba's moved around them, barely a quarter of the size of each petal. Each Shiba had what looked like a large push broom and they appeared to meticulously groom each petal until they'd been over each petal twice. Then they put away their brushes and went back into the air lock.

Suddenly the ship began to twist and shift like a dog looking for a scent. It zoomed from spot to spot, following the different cosmic scents until a worm hole opened right in front of of the ship.

The anticipation inside of the Conveyance was that of a hunting dog that had spotted its quarry; that moment just before the dog takes off after its prey when the hunter and hunted make eye contact.
With what looks like a sudden lurch, the ship launches into the wormhole. The entire crew of the Conveyance is alive with excitement. Barks fill the halls as the Conveyance follows the drifting scent trail through the wormhole as it's pulled by the gravity of each portal out of the tunnel. Finally, they stop in front of an exit that the scent trail is flowing through, but an uncertain energy flows through the Vibe Deck as the foul odor of an unstable hole causes the crew to snort and sneeze.

The ship turned away from the hole and began casting about again. Shortly after they turned away, the hole collapsed cutting off the trail. Another hole opened nearby, strong and reconnecting the scent trail, and without hesitation, the Conveyance leapt through it.
