After a long chat with the quartermaster, and a meeting with the very nice First Lieutenant we're displacing in order to be closer to Sickbay the children and I are very close to moving to our new home on the Eagle.
Lieutenant Samson was intially hesitant to leave her quarters near Sickbay. She had lived in the same cabin since she was first assigned to the Eagle and she had developed a a sentimental attachment to her home aboard ship. However, when I convinced her to come to Deck 3 and take a look around the suite she was getting in return, the extra space and the allure of a coveted billet in Officer's Country caused that sentiment to fade fast.
The new place is not going to be as glamorous a set up as I was given on Deck 3 but the quarters were for one, not four. I really feel this move is the best idea for all of us. I'll be close to my office twenty-four hours a day and the children will never be far.
Now, I've just gotten word from the quartermaster that the reconfiguration of Samson's previous quarters with two other empty units is complete -- We're on the move!
